DOWNTOWN ORLANDO 4.7 BILLION IN NEW REAL ESTATE PROJECTS

Downtown Orlando has a lot going on — $4.7 billion worth of projects in the works, to be exact — and that’s a good sign for the region’s economy.

At the April 2 kick off for Project Downtown Orlando — a 70-member task force planning the next decade of downtown Orlando revitalization and growth — the group compiled a list of projects currently underway as well as proposed projects for the downtown district.

Some of those projects weren’t named yet and only included an address, while others you may recognize, like the Creative Village, the Orlando Magic entertainment complex, the Major League Soccer stadium and more.

In total, the list includes 12 projects in progress, which represents a $2.47 billion investment ($1.06 billion in private funding and $1.36 billion in public funding). The current projects include:

  • 2,025 residential units
  • 463 hotel rooms
  • 178,680 square feet of retail space
  • 1.27 million square feet of office space

Meanwhile, there are 11 proposed projects for downtown Orlando that represent about a $2.27 billion investment ($1.06 billion in private funding and $1.36 billion in public funding). Those projects include:

  • 1,228 residential units
  • 405 hotel rooms
  • 111,809 square feet of retail space
  • 121,900 square feet of office space
