A new 299-unit apartment complex under construction in downtown Orlando’s Thornton Park community has a name: Artisan 420.
McLean, Va.-based Jefferson Apartment Group is developing the $42.7 million, nine-story apartment complex at 420 E. Church St., just a couple of blocks south of Lake Eola. The project, set to create more than 400 construction jobs, will feature 10 live-work units, 9,000 square feet of commercial space — including three art galleries — and three levels of integrated parking in a garage. Other upscale amenities include a spa and a salt-water pool.
Jefferson Apartment Group’s Mike Mulhall told me in an earlier interview that the idea was to create a little arts district. “We’re looking forward to having new local artists display their work every month,” Mulhall said in that interview.
The first units are expected to be completed in October 2015. Balfour Beatty Construction is the project general contractor, and Baker Barrios Architects is the designer.
